Pranayama: The science of breathing (English)
Personal growth course with Sri Swami Purohit
Have you ever wondered if you breathe correctly, or if it is possible to learn to breathe in a different way?
Sri Swami Purohit will explore the science of pranayama, along with practical exercises that will help you to:
Develop your lung capacity and oxygenate your nervous system. The greater your lung capacity, the greater your stamina.
Learn to breathe rhythmically. By changing the way in which you breathe and activating both nostrils (lunar and solar), you can change the activity in your brain.
Learn how changing your breathing can change your mood. This can be very useful in certain situations.
Activate paused diaphragmatic breathing, allowing you to increase your lung capacity. This type of breathing will connect you to a state of deep relaxation. This is a place of emotional healing, where the ego disappears and there is no desire for conflict.
Practice an exercise that will develop your navel centre, located 2 inches below, and slightly to the right of your belly button, known as the ‘seat of the mind’. This yoga exercise creates a deep state of relaxation, calm and wellbeing. When your breathing reaches this point, you will feel more creative and accepting.
